Frequently Asked Questions
- Is my audio uploaded to a server?
- No. SonoCut processes your audio entirely in your browser using WebAssembly. Your files never leave your device — no upload, no server, no storage.
- What's the maximum file size?
- We recommend files under 500 MB for best performance. Files up to 1 GB are supported but may be slower depending on your device. Files larger than 1 GB are blocked due to browser memory limits.
- What audio formats are supported?
- MP3, WAV, FLAC, OGG, AAC, M4A, WMA, and WebM audio files are all supported. The trimmed output keeps the same format as your original file.
- How accurate is the trimming?
- The trimmer uses stream copy with input-seeking, which is millisecond-level accurate for audio. Unlike video, audio frames are tiny, so seeking imprecision is imperceptible to listeners.
